High Intensity Interval Training or HIIT are workouts that have been on the rise over the last couple of years.
The HIIT Is a different type of exercise that can be added to your workout regimen. And I will do HIIT to mix it up my workout when I am needing a good workout but am burnt out on everything else
What is HIIT?
High intensity interval training is a great way to add a different type of cardio to your routine. This workout will incorporate several rounds of different exercises for about 40-45 seconds with 15-20 seconds of rest in between.
This activity is high intensity because you are supposed to push yourself to increase your heart rate for a good cardio workout. The Interval training comes in with the rest breaks integrated.
Benefits of HIIT
The HIIT workout keeps your heart rate higher during and after the workout compared to other cardio activities. Because of this, you can burn more calories during the one session.
HIIT workouts also have the same benefits as many other exercises and can be done with or without equipment including: heart health and weight control.
These workouts are great to start out with if you are a person who has not worked out in a while or just beginning.
Types of HIIT exercises
HIIT workouts can be down with or without equipment, but If you do not use any equipment, the activities would be considered more cardio. However, adding a dumbbell or kettlebell would be both cardio and resistance training.
