My favorite kettlebell exercises for an all around, full body workout. The kettlebell is a different tool you can use to do exercises for the upper and lower body.
This piece of equipment comes in different weights just like dumbbells and can be used for many of the same exercises that you can with a dumbbell.
The kettlebell is a great tool for someone to use at home. You can do a lot of exercises with the one piece of equipment, and they are not super expensive. You can purchase a kettlebell at Target or on Amazon.
Kettlebells can also be used for a good High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout. In this case, you can perform the exercises for 40-45 seconds with 15-20 second rest in between. With a kettlebell, you can get a good cardio and weight training workout done. Check out my favorite upper and lower body workouts, where you can switch out the dumbbell for a kettlebell.
I like using the kettlebell for a good full body workout. I will add in a kettlebell day to my workouts if I am needing a less intense workout.
While doing more research on kettlebells and their uses, I found out that they are great for strengthening the stabilizer muscles. During a workout with machines or other equipment, you are using pure force in a singular path.
However, with a kettlebell, because there is not just not one path, you must use the stabilizing muscles to control the kettlebell. Check out this article here for more information on what Kettlebells are used for.
The list below are the exercises I prefer to do with a kettlebell on my kettlebell days.
Upper body exercises
Skull crusher
Curl and press
Halo
Kickbacks
Bicep curls
Lower Body exercises
Kettle bell swings
Goblet squat
Windmills
Lunges
RDL
Select 4-5 exercises from my favorite kettlebell workouts listed above. Perform each one for 45 seconds with a 15 second break. I would also recommend doing them 4-5 times to reach a 20-30 minute workout.
If you were only going to buy one piece of workout equipment, a kettlebell is what I would recommend. It is very versatile for a great all-around workout.
